Unity for Children’s Best Interests Act
When it comes to child’s best interests, we should not take chances and hope for the best.
As part of Unity for Children's mission, we commit to rewriting the law so that children are treated with priority in family court, especially in cases involving Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) like parental substance abuse. Setting these issues aside also inadvertently neglects our children at a time when they are most vulnerable.
Now is the time to examine how things are done, enforce existing laws that are effective, and establish sustainable systems that prioritize the best interests of our children. It is our responsibility to create nurturing environments for children today in order to help break the harmful intergenerational cycle in our society. Doing so will allow our children and society at-large to flourish in years to come.
While children age, their childhood remains with them forever.
